The study tour is intended to enhance the knowledge of participants (DPWH-ARMM in-house trainees and trainers) on the principles of infrastructure management particularly on roads, bridges, flood control and irrigation systems. The activity also included tours in various infrastructure projects along Philippine-Japan Friendship Highway in Davao del Norte, via Butuan City to Cagayan de Oro City. They have visited the CARBDP PMO Butuan (Cotabato-Agusan River Base Development Program) office for their flood control project and Bit-os Pumping Station of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) for their Lower Agusan Development Project – Irrigation Component.

The group was facilitated by Mr. Clovis Ike J. Payumo, JICA Infrastructure Development Expert, aided by Dir. Guialoson A. Mamogkat, ITWG Team Leader and Head Trainer. The group was also assisted by Mr. Toto D. Laguialaot, Local Coordinator – IC Net Cotabato Office.
